Back again! with a Christian Bookstore...

OK, I've been gone for a while! Life tends to get in the way.
Candy and I have recently decided to open an online Christian bookstore. Our bookstore is http://www.wordoftruthbooks.com/.
We have a full line of Bibles, Christian books, Bible study materials and commentaries. We also have the other stuff. Clothes, jewelry, videos, cd's, gifts etc.
Our focus is not on the nik-nak items but rather to be able to offer the churches and people in our community an opportunity to purchase bibles, books, commentaries and the like from some where other than the big online Christian bookstores. Since we have no local Christian bookstore, online is the only alternative.
I will be starting to post book reviews and other information on this blog to keep those of you that stuble across it up to date on our familys newest adventure.
BTW, if you are looking for a Bible Commentary check us our here: http://www.wordoftruthbooks.com/bible-study/commentaries.html?lm=Bible%20Commentary

Blessings,
chris

What's in a name?

It's past my bedtime and I have decided to enter the world of "blogging". I should have been asleep by now.

A few days ago I was listening to a podcast by Dr. Albert Mohler and Dr. John Mark Reynolds discussing the "new media" and blogging (btw, I can't believe that little iPod holds that many songs and sermons!) and it sounded like something fun to do. I have a few "friends" with blogs and enjoy reading them, but have never considered posting one myself. Now I'm not sure that I have anything that interesting to say, but the idea that I can does intrigue me. So that is why I am here.

I don't have any fancy theological degree, I am quite normal by most accounts. My passion's are my family, my church and politics. I'm sure at some time I will write about all three. I'm not a particularly good writer and the "m" on my keyboard doesn't work all the time. Hopefully I will catch them before I post, if not this is my disclaimer.

When I sat down to post this blog I had to choose a name. After going through about a dozen or so "Godblog", "sovereigngrace" and "inHisname" type name's which had all been taken. I settled on titus3. The verse you will see on the top of my page is:

"not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:5-7

You see, it is "according to His mercy" that we have been saved.

It's still past my bedtime and I should be asleep by now...
